David Warner: IPL 2023 Experience Will Keep Me In Good Stead For WTC Final.

David Warner: IPL 2023 Experience Will Keep Me In Good Stead For WTC Final.

David Warner, the star opener for Australia, thought he was doing better than ever in the nets, and he wanted to back up his game plan before the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final against India. The final of the World Test Championship (WTC) will be played on June 7 at the Ovals in London between the Australian team and the Indian team.

Warner has been a part of Australia’s Test top order for more than a decade. He has a great record as an opener. In 103 Tests, he has scored 8,158 runs, with an average of 45.57. Still, he hasn’t done a great job in England. Warner’s Test record in other countries is far better than 651 runs at 26.04, but his form was bad during his most recent Ashes trip to England. With 95 runs scored in 10 innings, the starter had the second-lowest hitting average among the away team.

Warner told Cricket Australia that his net form was the best it had ever been and that his recent run in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 helped him get ready for the Tests in England.

“I’ve been doing really well in that my feet are moving, my energy is moving, and I’m out and about. I’ve just played in the IPL, where you have to try to score, and I think that’s helped me prepare for this test match. Warner told the Cricket Australia website, “I’m still trying to get a goal.”

Before the big WTC final, people were talking a lot about the Australian opener’s record in England. He thinks that his rough start to 2019 was because he didn’t stick to his plan. “It was hard, and none of my skills or anything like that had anything to do with it. If I’m upset with myself, it’s probably because I didn’t stick to my game plan, which was to try to score. Warner said, “I was listening to some other voices that, from my point of view, didn’t fit my game.”

The Australia opener also said that he did well on that tour when he went back to his “normal” style of play during the third Test at Leeds (hitting 61 in the first test). “I gave that a chance, but I felt like I batted my best at Leeds, and that’s how I usually play,” Warner said, trying to back up this intent-driven approach.

Warner said this about his approach: “I gave that a try, but I felt like I batted my best at Leeds, and that’s how I usually play.” I’d rather not play a front-foot defense and instead play a cover drive. From the point of view of the first hitter, it will be hard to do that with the new ball.

“But you have to be brave, and I think that with world-class bowlers in these conditions, you can’t let them get comfortable or put the ball in that one spot. So you’ll have to be brave and be happy with getting out, even if it’s with a cover drive or something else,” the Australia opener said.
