Friday morning, the opener verified that his original headdress had been recovered.

David Warner declared his missing baggy green to be lost in transit from Melbourne to Sydney prior to his final Test. Four days later, the baggy green was discovered.

The backpack was discovered at the team hotel in Sydney, containing two headwear, one of which was Warner’s from his Test début in 2011. The manner in which the backpack arrived at the location is still unknown. Friday morning, Warner uploaded a video to social media of himself holding his original baggy green and expressing gratitude to those who assisted in its recovery.

“Hi everyone, I am very pleased and relieved to let you all know that my baggy greens have been found, which is great news,” he wrote alongside the video. “Thanks to all involved and I am extremely grateful. Qantas, the freight company, our hotels and team management. Thank you.

A spokesperson for Cricket Australia stated, “The luggage containing the items was discovered at the team hotel with its contents inside. Since Tuesday, despite exhaustive investigations, the review of CCTV footage from multiple locations, and the efforts of numerous parties, the whereabouts of the missing satchel remain unknown.

Upon disclosing that the cap, which had been concealed within luggage that was delivered separately to the players following the second Test, had not yet arrived in Sydney, Warner stated that whoever had stolen the rucksack would not face repercussions if it were to be returned.

Warner utilized a freshly loaned headwear from Cricket Australia for several photoshoots prior to his final Test, which occurred when Australia fielded on the first day.

“It’s a huge relief David’s cap has been located and a big thank you to everyone who was involved in the search,” Nick Hockley, the CA CEO said. “We really appreciate it.”
