Chetan Sharma, the former chief selector of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), has resigned following his alleged comments made during a sting operation. The BCCI secretary, Jay Shah, is believed to have accepted the resignation, although no official statement has been released by the board.

In the sting, Sharma claimed that some Indian players were taking injections to speed up their return to the game, even when they were only 80 to 85 percent fit. He also alleged that there was a disagreement between himself and the team management regarding Jasprit Bumrah’s return from injury. Sharma also claimed that there was an ego clash between Virat Kohli and former BCCI president Sourav Ganguly.
