Rohit and Kohli are back for the T20Is against Afghanistan.

Once again, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have rejoined the T20I squad for India.

Sri Lanka will be led by Rohit Sharma in the forthcoming three-match Twenty20 International series against Afghanistan, the BCCI announced on Sunday (January 7).

This signifies the resumption of Rohit and Virat Kohli’s participation in the shortest format; they both last faced England in the 2022 T20 World Cup semifinal at the Adelaide Oval in Australia.

Notably, Sanju Samson and Jitesh Sharma have been selected as the two wicketkeeping alternatives for India’s final Twenty20 International series prior to the 2024 FIFA World Cup.

While Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya are both rehabilitating from ailments, a number of frontline players have been omitted from the lineup for the series, including Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah, and Mohammed Siraj.

The squad consists of three pacers, Arshdeep Singh, Avesh Khan, and Mukesh Kumar, in addition to four spin alternatives, Ravi Bishnoi, Washington Sundar, Axar Patel, and Kuldeep Yadav.

The three-match series is scheduled to commence in Mohali on January 11.
