Will Jacks delivered a jaw-dropping performance with a sensational 42-ball 101, guiding the Pretoria Capitals to a scintillating victory in the 2024 SA20 tournament.

Choosing to bat, Jacks took center stage in a one-man spectacle, partnering with Phil Salt for an explosive 75-run opening stand. Despite a collapse at the other end, Jacks continued his onslaught, contributing 101 to the Capitals’ total of 151 before his dismissal in the 13th over. Colin Ingram’s brisk 43 and some late heroics propelled the Capitals past 200, overcoming the challenges posed by Reece Topley’s three-wicket haul.

In the chase, the once-unbeaten Durban SuperGiants faltered as Jacks struck twice, dismantling their top order within 12 overs. Despite promising starts, the SuperGiants couldn’t sustain their attack, succumbing to timely wickets from the Capitals. Jacks’ early impetus proved crucial in sealing the SuperGiants’ fate, handing them their first loss of the tournament.

Brief Scores: Pretoria Capitals 204/9 (Will Jacks 101, Colin Ingram 43; Reece Topley 3-34) beat Durban Super Giants 187/7 (Matthew Breetzke 33; Will Jacks 2-18) by 17 runs
