On the other hand, it gave joy to the Knight Riders who are now assured of a top-two finish, which carries the advantage of having an extra chance to reach the summit clash via playoffs.

This result also ensured that the clash between Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants will now be a knockout game, with the loser being definitely eliminated. Both Gujarat and KKR can still influence the table with each having a game remaining. Gujarat will travel to Hyderabad to take on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), one of the contenders for a playoff spot, on May 16, while KKR go to Guwahati to take on Rajasthan Royals on May 19 which will be the final league game of the season.
