Shikhar Dhawan’s PBKS are aiming for their first IPL 2023

In the 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League, which begins on March 31, Punjab Kings will look to make a fresh start under newly appointed captain Shikhar Dhawan.

The Kings will look to improve on their sixth-place finish in the league phase last season when they finished with 14 points from 14 matches, just two points behind fourth-placed Royal Challengers Bangalore.

PBKS named World Cup-winning coach Trevor Bayliss as their head coach for the upcoming edition of the marquee tournament, IPL 2023.

Under his leadership, England won their first 50-over World Cup title in 2019. Bayliss has also won two IPL titles as a coach, with the Kolkata Knight Riders in 2012 and 2014. (KKR).

Former Australian wicketkeeper-batter Brad Haddin has also joined the 2014 IPL finalists as an assistant coach, while former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer has returned as the batting coach for IPL 2023.

For the upcoming IPL season, Punjab Kings have also named former South African pacer Charl Langeveldt as the new fast bowling coach and former Indian cricketer Sunil Joshi as the spin bowling coach.
