Michael Bracewell, an all-rounder from New Zealand, has been added to the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) team for the 2023 Indian Premiere League (IPL) season. He will take the place of Will Jacks, who is unable to play due to injury.
According to a statement that was published on the official website of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Saturday, “RCB have signed New Zealand batsman Michael Bracewell as a replacement for English batter Will Jacks for the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023.”
“The franchise paid Rs 3.2 crore to purchase Jacks, who withdrew from the league owing to an injury. Bracewell, who will take his position, has appeared in 16 T20Is, scored 113 runs, and taken 21 wickets. He will sign with RCB for Rs 1 crore as his base price.
Earlier this month, during England’s second ODI match against Bangladesh at Mirpur, the 24-year-old English batter was hurt while fielding. He decided to leave the franchise league after consulting with a physician and having scans earlier this week.
Jacks earned his debuts for England in all three formats this year, earning T20I and Test caps in Pakistan before taking the field in his first ODI in Bangladesh.
At Bangalore’s Chinnaswamy Stadium on April 2, RCB will face the Mumbai Indians in the first game of their IPL 2023 season.
