Kishore Shallow succeeds Skerritt as president of the CWI.

Ricky Skerritt, the president of Cricket West Indies (CWI) for the past four years, has decided not to seek another team. Dr. Kishore Shallow, who previously served as Skerritt’s vice president, is the new president, while Azim Bassarath of Trinidad and Tobago is the new vice president.

“I left. I did not run again for office. Skerritt, a previous manager of the West Indies team, stated on Sunday night to Cricbuzz, “I always said that four years would be enough for me.” At the CWI Annual General Meeting held in Antigua on Saturday, the change of dispensation was confirmed. (March 25).

One of the most important things on the agenda of the 24th AGM, which held at the Coolidge Cricket Ground in Antigua, was the election process. Dr. Shallow is a native of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

“On behalf of Cricket West Indies, I’d like to extend my sincere gratitude to outgoing President Ricky Skerritt for his most recent contribution to our great sport. The COVID-19 epidemic was one of the hardest times in our generation, and he served with honor and pride. His term has undoubtedly led us in the correct direction, as stated by Dr. Shallow.

He continued, “The overwhelming vote of confidence by the stockholders is encouraging. Sincere appreciation to them and all other parties involved for their assistance during the electoral process. As I begin this new position with Vice President Bassarath, I have no illusions about the substantial task. My philosophy remains one of inclusiveness and harmony. As a cricket nation, West Indies cricket will only make significant progress if we pool our resources and efforts together.”

In June of 2024, the CWI will co-host the Twenty20 World Cup, which will keep it busy for the next 18 months. Before we turn our attention to the 2024 T20WC, we are attempting to confirm our entire year and the locations for India and England.

After the AGM, a CWI official stated on this website, “If all goes well, the next 18 months will be both busy and exciting, transforming our business and laying the groundwork for the future.” In July and August, India will go to the Caribbean for a 10-game series.

Skerritt is a native of Saint Kitts and Nevis. In March of 2019, he defeated the then-president of the CWI, David Cameron, to assume the presidency. He had publicly said that he will not run for a third term.
