Virat Kohli, a star player for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), has said that he sold most of his cars because he bought them on a whim.
Indian cricketers like cars, and the former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni is one of them. But because they move around a lot, they only sometimes have time to enjoy their favorite things. Kohli has had the same problem for a long time, which has led him to sell off most of his car collection slowly.
Kohli said in the RCB Bold Diaries that he learned it was “pointless” to buy cars and add them to his collection during the team photoshoot.
“Most of the cars I used to own were bought on the spur of the moment, and I rarely drove or traveled in them,” he said. “After a certain point, I thought, ‘This is useless,’ so I sold most of them, and now we only use what we have to.”
“I think it’s also a part of growing up and becoming more aware and mature,” Kohli said. “You don’t want “toys” as such; it’s more about being useful.”
In an earlier conversation, Kohli said that his first car was a Tata Safari, which he bought in 2008. He said at the time that he liked SUVs and that he had put a full-fledged music system in it, which was popular in Delhi then.
In 2020, Kohli’s first Audi, an R8, was seen parked in front of a police station in Delhi. He used to be a brand spokesman for Audi India. He bought this model in 2012 and sold it in 2016 to get a better car.
“It will be exciting if I can play at the level I want to and help the team,” said Virat Kohli.
Even though RCB had a pretty good season in 2022 and finished third overall, Virat Kohli had a terrible event. The best batter didn’t score any runs at the top of the lineup or in the third spot, and he struggled for a while afterward.
Kohli is ready to play for the RCB in the IPL 2023. He has gotten back into shape and scored runs in all games in 2023. In a video that was shared on RCB’s social media accounts before the event, the former captain said:
“I just got back to playing the way I usually do.” There is still much room for me to improve, which I hope will happen in the IPL. “It will be exciting if I can get to the level I want to play at and help the team.”
The cricket player recently started working with the team before the season began. He was there for the team’s first full practice before the RCB Unbox event, which was held to recognize AB de Villiers and Chris Gayle’s work over the years.
