Punjab Kings have hired Gurnoor Singh Brar to replace Raj Angad Bawa, who got hurt.
Wednesday, the Indian Premier League sent a media advisory saying Punjab Kings had paid Rs 20 lakhs to hire the 22-year-old all-rounder.
“The Punjab Kings (PBKS) have paid INR 20 lakhs to get Gurnoor Singh Brar as an alternative for Raj Angad Bawa, who is hurt and can’t play in the TATA IPL 2023 season. IPL Media Advisory said Raj Angad Bawa would not be able to play because he injured his left shoulder in two games for PBKS last season.
Gurnoor made his first-class debut for Punjab in December 2022. He is a left-handed all-rounder who bats and bowls. He has played in 5 first-class games and made 107 runs at a strike rate of 120.22. In addition, he took 7 wickets at the cost of 3.80 runs per wicket.
Punjab Kings will play against Rajasthan Royals at the Barsapara Stadium, Guwahati, Assam. PBKS will want to keep the momentum going after beating the Kolkata Knight Riders in their first game.
