It’s the first time in T20 cricket history! Virat Kohli Changes History With Epic Record

It’s the first time in T20 cricket history! Virat Kohli is a cricketer. With a massive record, he rewrites history books. Virat Kohli led RCB to a 201-run victory over KKR, scoring 54 runs off 37 deliveries.

Virat Kohli has become the first T20 hitter to score 3,000 or more runs in a single location.
Virat Kohli hit his fifth half-century of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 season on Thursday, but it was in vain as Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) were severely defeated by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). With RCB chasing 201 against KKR, Kohli smashed 54 off 37 deliveries but received no assistance from the other batters, with the exception of Mahipal Lomror, who delivered a superb cameo 34 in 18 balls. During his knock in Bengaluru, however, the 34-year-old reached yet another milestone.

Kohli is currently the first T20 hitter to score 3,000 or more runs in a single match. He has 3,015 runs scored in 92 innings at Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Former Bangladesh captains Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah are next on the list. While Rahim has scored 2,989 runs in 121 innings at Mirpur’s Sher-e-Bangla Stadium, Mahmudullah has scored 2,813 runs in 130 innings there.

Alex Hales of England is fourth on the list, having scored 2,749 runs in 90 T20 innings at Nottingham’s Trent Bridge.

Tamim Iqbal, another former Bangladesh captain, rounds out the top five with 2,706 runs at Mirpur.

Following RCB’s loss to KKR, Kohli criticized his team’s performance, saying they “deserved to lose.”

“We handed them the game, to be honest. We deserved to lose.We certainly fell short of expectations. Looking back at the game, we didn’t take advantage of our opportunities. We blew a couple opportunities, which cost us 25-30 runs,” he explained.

Kohli, who led Bangalore for the third time in a row with normal captain Faf du Plessis playing as an impact sub due to a rib injury, attempted to start the chase with his 37-ball innings.

Bangalore’s batting suffered as the in-form Du Plessis was dismissed for 17 after hitting two sixes, and Australian big-hitter Glenn Maxwell was dismissed for five.

RCB were eventually reduced to 179/8 in 20 overs.
