‘Perplexed’ Zaheer Khan queries Umran Malik’s absence from the SRH lineup for IPL 2023.

‘Perplexed’ Zaheer Khan queries Umran Malik’s absence from the SRH lineup for IPL 2023.

Zaheer Khan, a former India seamer, doesn’t understand why Umran Malik hasn’t been in the SunRisers Hyderabad team for the last few games. Malik, who is 23 years old, was named the IPL 2022 Emerging Player of the Tournament. This season, he has only played seven games and taken five catches. He, on the other hand, didn’t play in the last few games.

Even though SRH was already out of the IPL 2023, it would have been good for Umran’s morale to play a few games. In the home game against RCB the other night, Umran was again left on the bench, and T Natarajan and Kartik Tyagi were put in. Zaheer, who is also an expert on Jio Cinema, didn’t know why Malik wasn’t there after the team lost by eight wickets.

Zaheer was worried about the same thing, so he said that SRH hadn’t done a good job with Umran’s case this season.

“I thought SRH did not do a good job with Umran Malik in terms of how he should have been handled and how his skills should have been used. “That was clear,” Zaheer said, as reported in Indian Express.

“When you talk about a young sailor, you also need to think about creating the right atmosphere and providing support. And, that direction is needed. Unfortunately, SRH did not see that. So that’s why he’s had a season like this,” Zaheer added.

Umran’s express speed makes him a true wild card, and since he hasn’t done much to stand out while wearing the India jersey, he earned a longer chance, especially since it was also the World Cup.

Aiden Markram, SRH’s captain, also didn’t know why Umran isn’t getting the games, raising doubts about who makes the team selection decisions.

“…(About Umran Malik) To be honest, I’m not sure. Certainly, he’s an X-factor player, bowling at 150kph, but I’m not sure what’s going on behind the scenes, but he has a lot of X-factor. “There’s a lot of pride to play for,” Markram explained at the coin toss.

Khan is concerned about the frequent Injuries of bowlers.

Apart from that, Zaheer revealed his thoughts on why Indian bowlers, including stars like Jasprit Bumrah and Prasidh Krishna, are getting injured so frequently.

“I’m just as confused as you are about bowlers getting hurt. There are also hitters who have been hurt really badly. “I don’t know how to explain that, and I’m sure it’s a mix of things,” Zaheer said.

“I think something needs to be looked at carefully, like how they’re going about the whole season or how much time they spend working, resting, and getting better. “It’s hard to say in one word what’s wrong,” he said.
