Asian Games Cricket
There will be T20 cricket events for both men and women at the Asian Games in 2023. Top-seeded teams like India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh will go straight to the quarterfinals.
The Asian Games in 2023 are going to be a great show for cricket fans. There will be T20 cricket matches for both men and women at the event in Hangzhou, China. India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh are all top-seeded teams, so they will go straight into the quarter-finals. This should make for some exciting cricket action.
In 2010 and 2014, cricket was part of the Asian Games, but not in 2018. The sport is coming back after a five-year break, which makes people even more excited and eager.
Men's Cricket Tournament
The men’s T20 cricket event starts on September 27 and ends on October 7 with the bronze and gold medal games. There will be 15 teams in the event, and the top-seeded countries will start their journey in the quarter-finals. In the group stage, the last 11 teams will fight, and the winners will join the top four teams in the quarterfinals.
At the Asian Games 2023, the men’s T20 cricket event will have both group rounds and straight entries to the quarterfinals. For the first part, the teams have been put into four groups.
Afghanistan and Mongolia are in Group A, while Cambodia, Japan, and Nepal are in Group B, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Thailand are in Group C, and Malaysia, Bahrain, and Maldives are in Group D.
India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh are the top-seeded teams, so they get to skip the group rounds and go straight to the quarter-finals.
Women's Cricket Tournament
From September 19 to September 25, the women’s T20 cricket game will take place. Just like in the men’s event, the top-seeded teams go straight to the quarterfinals. The remaining teams are split into two groups. After round-robin games and a qualifying game for the quarterfinals, the schedules for the top eight teams will be set.
Indonesia and Mongolia are in Group A, and Hong Kong and Malaysia are in Group B. Again, the top-seeded teams India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh will go straight to the quarterfinals without having to play any games.
How to Watch
If you want to watch the games live, you can stream them on Sony Liv, and they will also be shown live on the Sony Sports Network TV stations in India.
