Ben Stokes is expected to quit CSK after the regular season of the IPL 2023 and not to take part in playoffs.

Ben Stokes, who plays for the Chennai Super Kings and is an all-rounder, will go home when the league part of the Indian Premier League 2023 (IPL) is over.

ESPNCricinfo said that the Englishman, who has only played for CSK twice this season, will go back to the UK so that he has enough time to prepare for the Ashes next month. The five-Test series against Australia starts on June 16, and Stokes has said that he will keep playing his part as the fourth seamer during the series.

Stokes only played two games in the IPL and only scored eight and seven runs. Stokes has only bowled one over, giving up 18 runs and not getting any catches. The England captain, on the other hand, has been having health problems and was taken out of the CSK Playing XI after April 3.

CSK’s last game is against Delhi Capitals on May 20, and Stokes will leave after that. He might play in a test against Ireland on June 1 to get ready for the Ashes.

After being picked, he hurt himself again, but CSK boss Stephen Fleming didn’t say much about it. Stokes has been confirmed fit since last week, but CSK hasn’t been eager to make many changes. The Super Kings have usually used Devon Conway, Moeen Ali, Matheesha Pathirana, and Maheesh Theekshana as their four foreign players.

After CSK’s loss to KKR, Fleming said about Stokes’s chances of being in the Playing XI that the team won’t make too many changes for their last match in Delhi because of the loss.

Fleming said, “Ben’s ability to bowl overs is still a bit of a challenge right now, but he’s there as that batting cover.” “But Moeen bowled well in good conditions. Next, we play in Delhi, which has been turning, and we think the team’s balance has been right,” he said.

“And look, we’re in second place, so it’s not in our nature to switch things up just because we lost and things didn’t go our way. That won’t happen. We might change things, but our main goal is to get the right team for Delhi,” Fleming said.
