Complete List Of Records Broken In Chennai Super Kings’ Victory Over Gujarat Titans In IPL 2023 Final

On Tuesday, Chennai Super Kings defeated Gujarat Titans by five wickets (DLS) to win the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 title in Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. It was a record-equaling fifth triumph for CSK under the leadership of MS Dhoni, and they became the competition’s joint most successful franchise. The game was a nail-biter, with 10 runs needed off the final two balls, and Ravindra Jadeja closed it off in style.

A look at the records broken during the IPL 2023 championship

With five titles, Chennai Super Kings became the tournament’s joint most successful franchise. They are second in T20 events, together with Mumbai Indians and Titans (South Africa), with seven trophies, one less behind Sialkot Stallions (8).

MS Dhoni is also the equal most successful IPL skipper, having won five trophies. The only other cricketer to have won five IPL titles is Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma.

Ambati Rayudu won his sixth IPL trophy, tying him with Rohit Sharma for the most by any player.

This is the first time that three bowlers from the same squad – Mohammed Shami (28), Rashid Khan (27), and Mohit Sharma (27), have ended in the top three on the purple cap list.

The Gujarat Titans’ score (214/4) versus CSK was the highest by any team in a T20 event final in which they lost. Previously, Royal Challengers Bangalore reached 200/7 in the 2016 IPL final but were defeated by Sunrisers Hyderabad by eight runs.

MS Dhoni also played his 250th game in the Indian Premier League. He is the first person in the sport’s history to reach the milestone.
