Dindigul, June 18: In the evening match at NPR College of Engineering and Technology Cricket Ground, Natham, Dindigul, Dindigul Dragons upset Siechem Madurai Panthers by seven wickets.

The Dindigul Dragons chose to bat first and dominated from the outset. S. Karthik was removed for four runs by P. Saravana Kumar in the first over.

J. Kousik, on the other hand, constantly discovered borders. He defeated M. Mathivanan with a six and a four. Ravichandran Ashwin put his confidence in Varun Chakaravarthy’s expertise. The’mystery’ spinner did not disappoint, taking two wickets in his first two deliveries.

Subodh Bhati bolstered the Siechem Madurai Panthers lineup. In successive deliveries, he dismissed K. Deeban Lingesh and D. Sudhan. Subodh Bhati therefore became the tournament’s Purple Cap Holder.

Vimal Khumar fell for Gurjapneet Singh’s fuller delivery a few deliveries later, and Dindigul Dragons found themselves at 17/2.

Gurjapneet Singh returned to dismiss S. Arun. Adithya Ganesh, the impact player for Dindigul Dragons, hit the veteran Baba Indrajith with several blows. Despite the loss of wickets, the latter hit three boundaries off D Rahul to keep things going.

“I’m glad to contribute to both wins,” stated match player Subodh Bhati. I’m also fortunate to have Ashwin as captain. He continues encouraging me to collect up wickets.”

“Our batting was disappointing today,” Siechem Madurai Panthers skipper Hari Nishaanth stated after the defeat. We would have won the game if we had remained longer and played according to the circumstances. That was not accomplished by the batters.”

“We were able to bring out the best in our bowling department,” stated the victorious captain, Ravichandran Ashwin. Anyone can perform well on the surface if we work with confidence.”
