Gujarat Titans are the reigning champions of the Indian Premier League (IPL), and they are showing that their title win last season was no fluke. The team led by Hardik Pandya won their second game in a row in the IPL 2023. On Tuesday, they beat the home team, the Delhi Capitals, by six wickets to move to the top of the points table.
Pandya, a multi-talented player for the Titans, said he would rather “land the first punch” than take it. “It’s what I feel.” I like to back myself. I’d rather stand up for myself and fail than let someone else decide for me. I’d rather be the one to throw the first punch than the one to take it. We tell them to have fun. It will help us make the right choices and have someone help us through tough times. “It doesn’t matter what happens, just have fun and look out for each other,” Pandya said after Tuesday’s win over the Capitals.
Pandya thinks Sai Sudharsan will do “great things” in the next two years in franchise cricket. Sudharsan’s unbeaten 62 off 48 balls helped the Titans beat the Delhi Capitals and win their second game in a row.
“Sai Sudharsan has been hitting the ball very well. He and the people who helped him also deserve credit. From all his hitting in the last 15 days, you can see that all his hard work has paid off. “If I’m right, he’ll do something great for franchise cricket and, eventually, for India in two years,” Hardik said at the presentation after the game.
Pandya chose to bowl and made smart changes to his bowling to hold the home team, the Delhi Capitals, to 162/8. He then won the game by six wickets with 11 balls left. In their chase for 163, GT lost Shubman Gill and Pandya, which made them 54/3 in the power play. But Sai Sudharshan, who is 21 years old, kept calm and led the race with an unbeaten effort.
Pandya also said they got off to a “weird” start and gave up 15-20 more runs in the Power Play. “At first, it was a little funny. We didn’t know what was happening, but we knew something. In the Powerplay, we gave up 15-20 more runs. “But our bowlers did a good job of getting back on track,” he said.
