MS Dhoni, the leader of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), will play again in the coming season of the Indian Premier League. (IPL 2023).
The veteran wicketkeeper-batsman and the rest of the CSK team are preparing for the event. During the team’s practice sessions at Chepauk, Chennai fans warmly welcomed Dhoni.
A video that has gone viral on social media shows people cheering for Dhoni as he walks out to bat while they watch him. The CSK captain showed his appreciation for the fans by folding his hand.
During the last IPL season, Dhoni said he wanted to play in front of the Chennai crowd again before finally hanging up his boots.
The 41-year-old’s wish will come true when the event’s home-and-away format is returned.
Last year, CSK had a lousy season. They won only four of their 14 league games, which put them in second-to-last place in the points table.
It’s important to note that MS Dhoni gave up being captain just a few days before the game began. But Ravindra Jadeja, who had been named the new captain, quit after only eight games.
Even though Dhoni was made captain again, the four-time winners couldn’t turn things around after a bad start. They will try to compensate for it by putting on a better show this time.
The Chennai team will play the defending champion Gujarat Titans (GT) in the season’s first game on Friday, March 31, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
