The left-arm pacer featured for Australia in 135 matches in the limited-overs format.
Nathan Bracken, who used to be an Australian left-arm fast bowler, is about to start a new job. The former bowler will run as a Liberal candidate in the next election, which seems to be a political goal. During his cricket career, Bracken broke many records in one-day internationals (ODIs). In the 50-over format, the Aussie was the second-fastest bowler to get 100 wickets.
Notably, Mitchell Starc is the only Australian bowler to have broken his record so far. Starc was able to do this in 60 games. Bracken played most of his matches in the 50-over format. After setting the record above, he went on to play in 56 ODIs and 19 T20Is. The man from New South Wales ended his ODI career with a good average of 24.36 and a good economy rate of 4.41.
The 37-year-old also played for Australia in the World Cup in 2003 and 2007. Back in 2011, the quick decision was to stop playing because of knee injuries. He played in a total of 116 ODIs for Australia. Also, Bracken sued Cricket Australia for not taking care of his injuries the way he wanted.
But the case was settled after Cricket Australia was questioned about negligence and how it handled what was called a breach of contract. Since then, the Australian has continued to play cricket and give commentary on it. Now, Bracken is finally making progress toward his goal of becoming a politician.
Nathan Bracken, a Liberal candidate, will run for the seat of The Entrance on the Central Coast. Notably, the 37-year-old tried to run for office as an independent candidate in 2013 and again in 2017. Even so, Bracken has not done well in either of his two attempts so far.
