There are no surprises in England’s fourth Test lineup.

Ollie Robinson was the subject of fitness questions throughout the third Test, but he is still included in the team.

The squad will be further reduced because England typically announces its starting eleven on the day before a Test. If Anderson will be included on his home ground will be one of the key questions that will surround that.

Anderson himself is unconcerned with the choices being made. “They will choose the best team to take on Australia that particular week,” said the source. No matter what they decide, I will be perfectly satisfied.

“I am aware that my participation in the upcoming Test is not a given, and I will fully respect their decision to continue with the victorious squad. I have no control over the choosing process. I just make sure I am in a good headspace and prepared to play,” Anderson had penned in his Telegraph blog.

Stokes had intimated that there was a good chance Anderson, England’s leading wicket-taker, may return for the fourth Test before the third Test, in which he was benched.

Before the series began, we were up front and honest with one another about how difficult it would be to expect the bowlers to play in every game this summer. It is a nice opportunity for Jimmy to rest up before he charges in from the Jimmy Anderson End at Old Trafford the following week, according to Stokes.

Ben Stokes, Moeen Ali, James Anderson, Jonathan Bairstow, Stuart Broad, Harry Brook, Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Dan Lawrence, Ollie Robinson, Joe Root, Josh Tongue, Chris Woakes, and Mark Wood make up England’s team for the fourth Ashes Test.
