Ambati Rayudu Explains Why MS Dhoni Invited Him To Lift The IPL Trophy

In a nail-biting finish in Ahmedabad, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) beat the Gujarat Titans to win the IPL 2023 championship. This was their fifth title. Ravindra Jadeja was the hero of the game when, on the last two balls, he hit an important six and a four, which helped his team win the title.

In the last over, CSK needed 13 runs to win, but Mohit Sharma only gave away three runs in the first four balls. Jadeja’s powerful hitting changed the game. On the fifth ball, he hit a six, and then on the next ball, he hit a boundary toward fine leg, securing the win in style.

Devon Conway’s 47 runs at the beginning of the inning set the stage for CSK’s win, and Ambati Rayudu’s cameo in his last IPL game was the icing on the cake. Even though Rayudu only faced eight pitches, he helped the team by scoring 19 runs.

After CSK won, the team’s leader, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, did something very kind for Jadeja and Rayudu. He asked both players to join him on stage at the gathering after the game, where they all lifted the IPL trophy together.

Rayudu has now explained why Dhoni did what he did.

“He called me and Jaddu before the event and said he wanted us to help him lift the prize. He thinks it was a good time for both of us to do it. I don’t think anything like that has ever happened before. That’s who he is, and that’s who everyone knows him to be. Rayudu told NDTV, “Overall, it’s his way of showing respect.”

Stephen Fleming, the head coach of CSK, also said after the game that Rayudu was very important to the team and that the team would miss him in future seasons.

“Ambati Rayudu was a living hero. I think he’s a great batter, and the way he handled those three balls from Mohit Sharma today proved it.” It was pure class to hit Mohit for 6, 4, and 6 when he was one of the best bowlers at the time.
