If the second qualifying match between GT and MI is postponed or cancelled due to rain, what will happen then?

On Friday, May 26, the defending champion Gujarat Titans (GT) and five-time winner Mumbai Indians (MI) will go head-to-head in Qualifier 2 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. The game will take place in Ahmedabad at the Narendra Modi Stadium. The winner of this match will play the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the final on May 28.

During the league stage, Gujarat did a great job, winning 10 games and losing 4. This earned them 20 points. Because of how well they played, they were able to get into the playoffs before other teams. But in Qualifier 1, held at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, they lost to the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 15 runs. Gujarat’s batsmen failed to reach their goal of 173, and they were finally out for 157. Still, because they were one of the top two teams at the end of the league stage, they get a second chance to make it to the final.

On the other hand, the Mumbai Indians were the fourth-best team going into the playoffs. In the Eliminator, when they beat the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), they showed what they were really capable of. While batting first, Mumbai got a good score of 182/8 with input from many players. Akash Madhwal’s amazing bowling numbers of 5/5 were a big reason why LSG was only able to score 101 runs in 16.3 overs.

The winner of IPL 2023 Qualifier 2 between the Gujarat Titans and the Mumbai Indians will face the Chennai Super Kings in the final. But if it rains all day or there is no result because of the weather, the Mumbai Indians will be at a loss because the Gujarat Titans will qualify because they did better in the league stage.

Fans should not have to worry about the weather getting in the way of Friday’s big game between GT and MI. The website accuweather.com says that there is no chance of rain. But the weather in Ahmedabad is likely to be very hot and muggy, with temperatures in the mid- to late-30s Celsius.

Gujarat Titans Predicted XI:
Shubman Gill, Wriddhiman Saha (wk), Sai Sudarshan, Hardik Pandya (c), David Miller, Vijay Shankar, Rahul Tewatia, Rashid Khan, Mohammed Shami, Alzarri Joseph, Noor Ahmed.

Mumbai Indians Predicted XI:
Rohit Sharma (captain), Ishan Kishan (wicketkeeper), Cameron Green, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Verma, Tim David, Hrithik Shokeen, Piyush Chawla, Chris Jordan, Jason Behrendorff, and Akash Madhwal are likely to be in the Mumbai Indians’ likely XI.
