RCB captain Faf du Plessis says, “Have worked on improving my strike-rate this season.”

So far, Du Plessis has hit 40 fours and 29 sixes in 10 games. His boundary count has gone up, and he has been a better defender for RCB in the middle overs than “King Kohli.”

Some people haven’t liked how his opening partner Virat Kohli played in the middle overs, but Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Faf du Plessis is happy with his own game because he has been able to switch gears well and improve his strike rate.

Du Plessis is the current winner of the Orange Cap, with 511 runs in 10 games. He has done this at a strike rate of 157.72, which is much higher than his career strike rate of 133.58 in 126 games.

In an interview with RCB Bold Diaries, Du Plessis said that since the start of the tournament, he has been trying to play with a higher strike rate and that he now also wants to play long games for RCB.

During the RCB Bold Diaries, du Plessis said, “I have been very deliberate about trying to get hundreds, finding gears I can work through mid-innings, and trying to get to innings as we can get 75 or more (in middle overs).”

So far, Du Plessis’s boundary count has gone up because he has hit 40 fours and 29 sixes in 10 games. He has also been a better defender for RCB in the middle overs than “King Kohli.”

“In the past, I always felt like I had a good attacking game, but I felt like there was another gear to take your strike rate from 130 to at least 150 and sometimes 160-170, so I have worked a lot on that,” the former Proteas captain said.

“But it’s also important for me to try to play as much cricket as I can so I can stay on top of my game,” du Plessis said in the end.

RCB is currently fifth in the table with 10 points from 10 games. They would like to win on Tuesday against MI at the Wankhede to keep their playoff dreams alive.
