WTC Final: Indian Cricketers Become Emotional After Wearing Arm Bands in Support of Odisha Train Accident Victims

The International Cricket Council (ICC) honored the victims of the recent Odisha train accident by wearing black armbands and holding a minute’s silence before the start of the World Test Championship Final (WTC) at the Oval in London on Wednesday.

On Friday, the PA system declared a minute of silence to honor the victims of the railway tragedy in Balasore that occurred last week.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and chose to bat first against Australia in the World Test Championship (WTC) final at the Oval in London on Wednesday.

The Indian Test squad is ready to play Australia in one of the games that might define their history and the prowess they have achieved in recent times after beating the odds to reach the World Test Championship 2023 final.

“We’re going to bowl,” Rohit Sharma stated after the toss. The gloomy weather conditions. The pitch will not vary much. Four seamers and one spinner. The spinner’s name is Jadeja. It’s always difficult to say goodbye to Ashwin; he’s a match-winner. He (Rahane) adds a lot of experience, having played almost 80 Tests.”

Pat Cummins said, “We would have bowled as well.” Hopefully, there will be some spin on days four and five. You believe it will fit his bowling and that he will be a valuable asset. We’ve been here for approximately ten days. We haven’t missed a lesson yet since the weather has been beautiful.”

India’s Playing XI: Rohit Sharma (c), Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, Srikar Bharat (w), Ravindra Jadeja, Shardul Thakur, Umesh Yadav, Mohammed Shami, and Mohammed Siraj.

Australia’s playing XI: is David Warner, Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne, Steven Smith, Travis Head, Cameron Green, Alex Carey(w), Pat Cummins(c), Mitchell Starc, Nathan Lyon, and Scott Boland.
