Bangladesh vs England 2nd ODI Match Prediction:
BAN vs ENG Match Preview:
England will face Bangladesh in the second of three ODI games, with three more T20 games to follow afterwards. England just finished their series against New Zealand, but this ODI squad was completely different from the Test squad.
Despite a great performance from Bangladesh on their home turf, it was England becoming victorious in the first ODI game with eight balls remaining. The win was mostly thanks to Dawid Malan’s huge 114* runs and Jofra Archer’s great 2/37 bowling figures from 10 overs.

Bangladesh vs England: Team Previews
Bangladesh Squad:
Can Bangladesh turn things around in the second ODI game? It’s certainly possible, considering how close they were to a win. The squad is talented enough with several big names playing in the series.
The team really needs Mahmudullah to get back to his standout batting from the past, as he’s failed to reach a half-century in his last 10 matches, including the BPL. He’s scoring dependably, but Bangladesh needs a powerful batting performance.
Captain Tamim Iqbal, too, is averaging 45.16 with the bat, but his play lately has been erratic. It might be that Najmul Hossain Shanto is the X Factor, as he did make 58 runs in the first game, but he’ll have to quicken up the pace, as he needed 82 deliveries.
Spinner Taijul Islam was fantastic with a 3/54 effort in the first game, and if he and Mehidy Hasan Miraz can continue their fine bowling attack, then England may be bamboozled from the spin.
England Squad:
England’s squad could look a little different from the first game, as several key players from the Test squad begin to trickle in from the New Zealand series.
One thing is for sure, that Malan is the danger man here with his century in the first game, not to mention 439 runs (73.16 average) from his last 7 matches. Without Malan’s huge 114 runs, England had no chance to win, as the wickets were falling all around him. Apart from Malan, the top four batters combined for just 31 runs! The Bangladesh pitches and spinners could be getting to the English batters.
England will still wait for Root and Stokes, who are unlikely for the second game but probable for the third, as these two need some time off for recovery after the New Zealand series. Jos Buttler needs to improve if England is to win again, as his batting average of 47.28 is good, but he’ll have to support Malan.
It was a nice all-round bowling effort from England in the first ODI, as four players picked up two wickets. Still, spinner Adil Rashid and Jofra Archer will be the main players here, as both were crucial in the South Africa ODI series, with Archer especially threatening from his 6/40 performance.
BAN VS ENG Pitch Report:
Scores of around 230 are common for ODI games, and the pitch is likely to be great for spinners a bit later in the contest. Batters may get comfortable early on, so things will depend on which side is feeling better on the day.
BAN VS ENG Weather Report:
The pitch has been helpful for the batters in the past but in recent times, it is the bowlers who’ve enjoyed great help off the surface. It will be challenging for the batters to time their strokes and the bowlers would have an advantage. It will be a sunny day with a high of 33 degrees Celsius in Dhaka on the match day.
BAN VS ENG CricAdvisor Predictions:
The bowlers on both teams look in great touch. If the pitch continues to behave the way it did in the opening match of the series, it will be another low-scoring thriller. And in such thrillers, Bangladesh will have a solid chance of winning. The hosts have a strong overall side with experienced batters who can turn things around. Their bowlers have been consistent and have a good record at home. England, the current white-ball champions, have what it takes to win an ODI in any part of the world. They will start as favourites in our match prediction given their squad strength. Cric Advisor’s prediction will favor England to win the match.
