Daniel Vettori, an assistant coach for Australia, says that the Indian fast bowling attack is a mystery.

Australia thinks Ravindra Jadeja will be in India’s playing XI for the World Test Championship (WTC) final on June 7 at The Oval, but they are not sure about Ravichandran Ashwin’s participation in the big match. During the recent Border-Gavaskar Trophy series, India used three spin bowlers. Ashwin (25 wickets) and Jadeja (22) stood out and helped India win the series 2-1.

Before Australia’s training session on Thursday at the Kent County Cricket Ground in Beckenham, assistant coach Daniel Vettori told local media that the team management talked a lot about how India might bowl. “That’s something we’ve talked about,” Vettori said.

“I think Jadeja will play because of how good he is at hitting and how well he has done at the No. 6 spot. Then the question will be about that fourth seamer and the all-rounder, (Shardul) Thakur and Ashwin, but they are both pretty good choices,” Vettori said.

Vettori, on the other hand, thinks that Ashwin might not make the starting XI because of how the team is put together, even though he has a good record in England. The experienced off-spinner has played seven Tests in England and taken 18 wickets on an average of 28.11. However, he has only played one test at the Oval.

Vettori said, “Ashwin is a great bowler, and most teams will pick him as their first choice, but the way they put their teams together could mean that he doesn’t get picked.” “We think the Oval will act like it always does. It’s a good pitch, but the spinners can do a lot with it as the game goes on.”

Vettori also thinks that Cameron Green will be important in the WTC final, especially after his great performance in the IPL 2023, which just ended. “Any cricket is in the planning stage now. Vettori said of Green, “He is working in the background to make sure his bowling loads are up and he is ready for Test cricket.”

“From our point of view, if you’re playing high-level cricket, we’re happy with that because it means you’re playing cricket.” It’s hard for guys to start from scratch, and it might be hard for a couple of guys who have been out for a long time to get back up to speed as quickly as possible,” he said.

“I think Cameron will be fine because he has been playing cricket so much. It’s wonderful that he’s back. He brings a lot to the team, and he did a great job for us in India and is coming off a good IPL.
