Delhi Capitals Cricketers’ Bats And Equipment Stolen During Transit From Bengaluru.

The Delhi Capitals are the only team in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 that hasn’t won a game yet. They’ve lost five games in a row so far. Before their next IPL 2023 match on Thursday against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi, the team will get more bad news.

Before DC’s sixth match, bats and other tools worth lakhs of rupees went missing from their kit bags while they were being transported from Bengaluru, where they played their last game against the Royal Challengers Bangalore. A report from the Indian Express says that 16 bats, pads, shoes, thigh-pads, and gloves were stolen from the players’ bags when they arrived in the city on Sunday from Bengaluru, where they had played the RCB on Saturday.

“Three bats belonging to captain David Warner, two bats belonging to all-rounder Mitchell Marsh, three bats belonging to wicketkeeper-batsman Phil Salt, and five bats belonging to young player Yash Dhull were stolen from their bags. Some other players have also lost shoes, gloves, and other cricket gear. “Each bat used by a foreign player costs about a lakh rupees,” said the source.

When the players got their kits when they got back from Bengaluru, they found out what had happened. They told the franchise officials, who quickly made an official complaint. Even though DC was able to train on Tuesday, the players called their agents to ask for new bats before their April 20 game against Kolkata Knight Riders.

“They were shocked to find out that everyone had lost something from their kit bags. This is the first time something like this has happened, and the issue was quickly brought up to the logistics department, the cops, and then the airport. “The investigation is underway,” a source at Delhi Capitals was reported as saying by the Indian Express newspaper.

During the T20 league in India, a franchise owned by GMR Group and JSW hires a logistics business to make sure that team kit bags and large luggage are flown ahead of time to the next destination. After every game, the DC players were told to leave their kit bags outside their rooms, and the logistics company moved them. The players get their kit bags outside their rooms at the place where they have traveled.
