Triad of Indian Cities Chosen to Host Official World Cup Warm-Up Encounters

The official schedule for the warm-up matches leading up to the next ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in India has been made public.

In the week coming up to the start of the World Cup on October 5, each of the 10 teams will participate in two official 50-over matches in one of India’s cities. These matches will take place in a total of three different Indian cities.

The matches, which will be contested between Friday, September 29, and Tuesday, October 3, in Guwahati, Hyderabad, and Thiruvananthapuram, will give teams with the best opportunity to adapt to the circumstances that would be present during the World Cup.

On the first day of warm-up matches, Bangladesh will face Sri Lanka in Guwahati, South Africa will play Afghanistan in Thiruvananthapuram, and New Zealand will play Pakistan in Hyderabad. All of these matches will take place in India.

The next day, the hosts India will play the reigning champions England in Guwahati, while the five-time champions Australia will play the Netherlands in Thiruvananthapuram in an effort to get vital experience. Both matches will take place in India.

Every match will start at 14:00 IST, and clubs will be able to field their complete 15-man rosters for the duration of the competition.
