On Monday, Royal Challengers Bangalore will face Lucknow Super Giants in an IPL 2023 match at the Ekana Cricket Stadium.
The Royal Challengers Bangalore are coming off a 21-run loss to the Kolkata Knight Riders. This will be the second meeting between RCB and LSG in IPL 2023, with the KL Rahul-led team winning by one wicket in the previous match. There are many doubts over premier pacer Josh Hazlewood’s availability, and he is unlikely to be included to the playing XI against LSG.
RCB has failed to retain the momentum generated by Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis, and Glenn Maxwell, who have all scored in the first eight games.
Kohli, du Plessis, and Maxwell cannot be expected to perform flawlessly in every game, and it is past time for Mahipal Lomror, Shahbaz Ahmed, and Dinesh Karthik to step up.
Fielding and catching need to improve as well, as Kohli pointed out following the loss to KKR.
Unless du Plessis, who has been used as a ‘Impact Player,’ regains full fitness, the former India captain will continue to lead the side.
Mohammad Siraj has been the RCB’s standout bowler, and he needs help from the other fast bowlers. Harshal Patel has been assigned to bowl the difficult overs, however he would like to lower his economy rate from 9.94.
RCB’s Predicted XI against LSG:
Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis, Shahbaz Ahmed, Glenn Maxwell, Mahipal Lomror, Dinesh Karthik, Suyash Prabhudessai, David Willey, Wanindu Hasaranga, Vijaykumar Vyshak, Mohammed Siraj
