Pakistan’s squad is suffering from a small health risk

The Pakistan World Cup team has been hit by a slight health issue, with a handful of their players suffering from fever. Shaheen Afridi, the world’s best fast bowler, is thought to be among those impacted.

According to a statement issued by the Pakistan team management, some of the players who had been suffering from fever are now on the mend, while others are still in the hospital. “Some players developed fever in the last few days, and the majority of them have fully recovered.” “Those in the recovery stage are still being monitored by the team medical panel,” a spokeswoman for the Babar Azam-led team stated.

The identities of those who are ill have not been released, but it is believed that they include Shaheen, Abdullah Shafique, Mohammad Rizwan, Salman Ali Agha, Mohammad Haris, and Zaman Khan. “No viral infection or disease exists.” “A few players had fevers, and the majority have already recovered,” the statement stated, without naming them.

PCB files a complaint about excessive crowd behavior.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced that it has filed a protest with the International Cricket Council (ICC) against the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Ahmedabad audience for unacceptable behavior directed at its players during the India game. The PCB has also conveyed its displeasure with the BCCI for failing to arrange visas for Pakistan supporters and for failing to secure visas for its media on time.

“Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has lodged another formal protest with ICC over delays in visas for Pakistani journalists and absence of a visa policy for Pakistan fans for the ongoing World Cup 2023,” stated a statement issued by the PCB. It then went on to say: “The PCB has also filed a complaint in respect of Inappropriate Conduct targeted at the Pakistan Squad during the India vs Pakistan Match held on 14th October 2023.”

The ICC did not respond immediately, but Cricbuzz understands that a part of the crowd yelled obscenities at a few Pakistan players during the Ahmedabad match, which Pakistan lost by seven wickets.

Pakistan, who has a 2-1 record in the World Cup’s league stage, will meet Australia on October 20 in Bengaluru.
