Rohit Sharma, captain of the Indian cricket team, became become the 15th player in ODI history to score 10,000 runs.

Rohit blasted a decent length ball from Kasun Rajitha behind the bowler’s head in the seventh over of India’s Super Four match against Sri Lanka. The ball was hit so hard that it went over the long off field boundary.

He now has 10,000 runs in One-Day Internationals. His time put him in second place among all batters for this achievement. He batted for 241 innings, putting him second only to his teammate Virat Kohli (205).

He became the sixth Indian hitter to get a century. Former captains MS Dhoni, Rahul Dravid, and batting greats Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid preceded him.

The Man with the Highest Individual Score

One of the standout achievements in Rohit Sharma’s illustrious ODI career is his record-breaking individual score of 264 runs in a single match. This remarkable feat, achieved against Sri Lanka in 2014, still stands as the highest individual score in ODI history. It showcased Rohit’s ability to dominate the opposition and make monumental contributions to his team’s success.

The Sultan of Sixes

Rohit Sharma is not only a master of centuries but also a six-hitting machine. He holds the distinction of hitting the most number of sixes for an Indian batter in ODIs, with a staggering 285 maximums to his name. This accomplishment places him third on the global list of most sixes in ODI cricket, behind only Shahid Afridi (351) and Chris Gayle (331). Rohit’s ability to clear the boundary ropes with ease has made him a crowd favorite and a nightmare for bowlers around the world.

Three Double Tons: A Feat Unmatched

What sets Rohit Sharma apart from his contemporaries is his incredible consistency in reaching monumental milestones. He is the only batter in ODI history to achieve the remarkable feat of scoring three double centuries. His knocks of 209 against Australia in 2013, 264 against Sri Lanka in 2014, and 208* against Sri Lanka in 2017 showcased his ability to not just reach but also surpass the 200-run mark consistently. These performances solidify his reputation as one of the greatest limited-overs batsmen of all time.
