“You’ve Decided It’s My Last”: MS Dhoni’s Epic Reaction To IPL’s ‘Swansong’

While he will retire from international cricket in 2020, MS Dhoni has been a fixture for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

MS Dhoni is a cricketing legend. The Chennai Super Kings captain is the most successful Indian cricket captain in history, having won three ICC titles while leading the team. While he will retire from international cricket in 2020, Dhoni has been a fixture for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). There has been widespread conjecture that Dhoni’s final IPL season will be in 2023.

The support for Dhoni and CSK has been overwhelming, whether in Kolkata, Jaipur, or Lucknow. Dhoni has stated that this is the ‘final phase’ of his career. However, no official confirmation has been received from either Dhoni or CSK’s side regarding the same.

“Clearly this wonderful swansong tour, your last. How are you enjoying it?” Danny Morrison asked Dhoni at the toss of the IPL 2023 match against Lucknow Super Giants in Lucknow.

“You have decided it is my last (smiles). Not me. We’ll bowl first. The wicket was under covers and it looks a bit tacky, so we’ll look to bowl first. You have to see all the conditions and venue.”

Everyone is kept wondering by MSD.

In their IPL match against Lucknow Super Giants on Wednesday, Chennai Super Kings skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the toss and opted to bowl first.

LSG all-rounder Krunal Padya is captaining the team while usual captain KL Rahul recovers from a major thigh injury.

CSK has replaced Akash Singh with fast bowler Deepak Chahar, while LSG has introduced Manan Vohra and Karan Sharma in their starting XI.

Krunal Pandya (C), Quinton de Kock (wk), Kyle Mayers, Deepak Hooda, Marcus Stoinis, Nicholas Pooran, Ayush Badoni, Krishnappa Gowtham, Ravi Bishnoi, Avesh Khan, Amit Mishra.
