Jaydev Unadkat ruled out of IPL due to shoulder injury.

He is expected to recuperate in time for the WTC final in England, which begins on June 7.

Jaydev Unadkat of the Lucknow Super Giants has been ruled out of the rest of the IPL 2023 due to a left-shoulder injury sustained during training in the nets on Sunday.

On Sunday, Unadkat was about to bowl his first ball in the Lucknow nets when he raced in from around the wicket and his left foot got caught in the rope that holds the net up. He landed awkwardly on his bowling elbow. He was observed clutching his left shoulder while still on the ground, his arm in a sling, and an ice pack on his shoulder not long after.

Unadkat’s injury occurred on the same day as KL Rahul‘s, who injured his right leg while pursuing a ball in the outfield in the second over against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Rahul’s scan results and the degree of his damage are still pending.

Unadkat has gone wicketless in three IPL games this season and has allowed 92 runs in eight overs.

He is one of five fast-bowling possibilities in India’s roster for the WTC final, along with Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Umesh Yadav, and allrounder Shardul Thakur. Rahul is also on the WTC team, but his involvement is still unknown.
