With less than a week till the 2023 World Test Championship Final against Australia, India skipper Rohit Sharma has joined the likes of Virat Kohli, Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur, and Umesh Yadav for team training.
Rohit, who guided the Mumbai Indians to Qualifier 2 in the recently finished Indian Premier League season, came in England after his team’s loss to Gujarat Titans earlier this week.
He was accompanied by Rajasthan Royals opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, who was named to the India squad as a stand-in opener for the one-off final in lieu of Ruturaj Gaikwad, who is getting married later this week.
The BCCI Twitter account posted images of Virat Kohli, Cheteshwar Pujara, and Jaydev Unadkat arriving at the training field on Monday, with the caption “Arrival Alert, @imVkohli, @cheteshwar1 and @JUnadkat are here.”
The account also shared photographs of other Indian players practising, including Umesh Yadav and Mohammed Siraj.
Umesh Yadav and Shardul Thakur were among the first wave of Indian players to begin preparations for the Final at The Oval on June 7.
