How can Virat Kohli’s RCB and Gautam Gambhir’s LSG meet again in the IPL 2023 playoffs?

The win by Delhi Capitals (DC) over Punjab Kings (PBKS) on Wednesday night has made it possible for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) to play each other again in the IPL 2023. But for that to happen again, RCB needs to win both of its final games, starting with Thursday night’s match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

RCB is currently in fifth place on the IPL 2023 Points Table. They have played 12 games and earned 12 points so far. If they beat SRH and Gujarat Titans in their last game, they will have 16 points and be able to make the playoffs. For a playoff game between RCB and LSG to happen, Krunal Pandya’s Lucknow team must lose their last game against Kolkata Knight Riders.

Aside from this, MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings need to win their last game against Delhi Capitals on Saturday, while SRH needs to beat Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium this weekend. If all of these things happen, fans can look forward to another explosive ‘do-or-die’ Eliminator fight next week.

The last game between RCB and LSG finished with a fight between RCB batter Virat Kohli and Lucknow coach Gautam Gambhir that happened off the field. After the match, Kohli, Gambhir, and LSG spinner Naveen-ul-haq were all fined 100% of their match fees. Naveen-ul-haq’s match fees were also cut by 50%.

Ten years earlier, they had a fight during an IPL game between RCB and Kolkata Knight Riders in Bengaluru. After Faf du Plessis took over as captain in 2022, Kohli became a batter for RCB. Gambhir is now retired and works as the global mentor for LSG, which is run by KL Rahul.

As the players shook hands after the game, it looked like LSG bowler Naveen-ul-Haq and Kohli said something to each other. Then, Gambhir pulled his team’s first hitter, Kyle Mayers, away from Kohli so he could talk to Mayers.

After that, everything went crazy, and Gambhir was seen charging at Kohli while his players, including the hurt captain KL Rahul and Amit Mishra, tried to hold him back. When they were fighting, Kohli was seen trying to calm Gambhir down. However, instead of calming down, the situation got worse until Amit Mishra came in and broke them up.
