Matthew Hayden, a former opener for Australia, says that the upcoming IPL will be “celebrated like no other” by the Chennai Super Kings, whose star player MS Dhoni may be playing his last game in the franchise based T20 league. Since the first season of the league in 2008, the former Indian captain has led the CSK to four victories as their captain. Hayden said: “See, CSK is known for creating unique and interesting ways to do things. Take their hiatus out of their IPL. It was sad that they didn’t play for two years, and it was a big surprise when they came back the next year and won the IPL. And they know how to do it!” MS Dhoni has a way of giving the team a whole new look and feel, even though it has an excellent reputation for putting all of its trust in a small number of players and keeping most of them.
For MS Dhoni, I believe that this year will be one of the most celebrated of his career. It is, I believe, the end of MS Dhoni’s legacy, and he will want to go out in style with his admirers, who would also want him to go out in style. The forthcoming season of the IPL begins on March 31.
Hayden talked about the Chennai Super Kings returning to the Chepauk Stadium in what will likely be Dhoni’s last IPL season as a player.
“Here we go again in 2023! The IPL is going on, and it’s happening all over India after COVID. It will be amazing to see how many fans, called the Yellow Army, will crowd into the Chepauk Stadium.”
They will be the same team that is hard to beat at home. At home, at Chepauk, they have the best record in the IPL.
That place is a stronghold. And MS Dhoni will be their captain for what might be the last time. That will be one of those moments that no one will ever forget.
He stayed in the IPL to say goodbye to his fans at Chepauk, and you can’t even imagine how many of them will show up.
