In the match between LSG and MI, Rohit Sharma dances down the pitch and hits a massive SIX.

The Mumbai Indians (MI), led by Rohit Sharma, lost to the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by five runs because they couldn’t reach a 178-run goal. This happened in match 63 of the IPL 2023, which took place in Lucknow on Tuesday, May 17. MI chose to bowl first and brought LSG’s score down to 35 for 3 before Marcus Stoinis’ 47-ball 83* helped his team score 177 for 3. Rohit and Ishan Kishan’s 90-run opening stand helped Mumbai get off to a good start, but they lost their way in the second half of their run chase and only got 172 for 5, which was not enough to win by five runs.

Rohit got off to a good start during MI’s opening game. He looked like he was at home and hit a few big ones. In the fourth over, when LSG’s impact sub Yash Thakur came in, he hit a big six with his signature pull shot. Here’s a film of Rohit dancing down the pitch and smashing a huge six towards deep mid-wicket –

Even though MI got off to a good start, they lost their way after Ishan and Rohit left. The MI captain was the first to be out. He was out after a good 25-ball score of 37, while Ishan was out after 59 (39). Krunal Pandya (1 for 27) and Ravi Bishnoi (2 for 26) led the charge after they were out, while Yash Thakur’s two strikes and Mohsin Khan’s great last over helped Lucknow get an important win before the playoffs.

HITMAN THINKS ABOUT MI’S LOSS:
Rohit said at the meeting after the game, “We didn’t play well enough to win. There were times in the game when we should have won, but we didn’t. We did a great job of figuring out what the pitch was like, and it was a good place to bat. The score was doable, but we lost our way in the second half of the games. At the end, we gave up too many runs, and the last three overs went for a few. But the way we started with the bat put us in a good position to chase, but as I said, we lost our way in the second half.”
