IPL 2023: LIVE THE MOMENT: Ravindra Jadeja hits 10 runs off the last two balls, and CSK wins their fifth championship.

Ravindra Jadeja, a batter for the Chennai Super Kings, kept his cool and hit two boundaries (a four and a six) off the last two balls of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 final to get his team home.

CSK had to get 13 runs off the last six balls, but they could only get 3 runs off the first four balls and 10 runs off the last two. Then, Jadeja hit a six off the second-to-last ball and then hit a low full toss bowled onto his legs to fine leg to win the rain-soaked classic. Look at the pictures again.

Earlier, CSK won the toss and chose to bowl first on a pitch that was covered for most of the day before because of constant rain, which also pushed the IPL final to the backup day.

Still, Gujarat’s starters gave them another great start by scoring 64 runs on the powerplay. Shubman Gill was again beaten by Ravindra Jadeja in the first over after the power play. Dhoni did a spectacular stumping in just 0.1 seconds. Before that, Gill got 39 runs in 20 balls, and by the end of the season, he had 890 runs, which was the second most in an IPL season after Virat Kohli’s 973 runs for RCB in 2016.

Then, Sai Sudharsan made a great 96 in 47 balls, and Gill’s opening partner, Wriddhiman Saha, made 54, bringing GT’s total to 214/4 after 20 overs. Due to the rain, CSK would need to score 171 runs in 15 overs to win.

The first two batsmen for Chennai also got off to a great start. They added 74 runs in 6.3 overs before Ruturaj Gaikwad was out on 26 (16 balls). Soon after the first wicket, Devon Conway was the second person to go down. He had scored 47 runs in 25 balls. Then, Ajinkya Rahane and Shivam Dube added 39 runs together to make the third wicket. Rahane was out when the team had 117 runs, and he had just scored 27 runs in 13 balls.

Ambati Rayudu, who was playing in his last IPL game, and MS Dhoni were both out in the 15th over. Dhoni was out on his first ball, leaving CSK with 22 runs to get in the last 2.1 overs. Dube’s unbeaten 32 off of 21 balls and Jadeja’s 15 off of 6 then made sure that the Super Kings had a clean finish. They now have the same amount of IPL titles as Mumbai Indians, which is five.
