Yuzvendra Chahal, a spin bowler for India and the Rajasthan Royals made history on Sunday when he became the first Indian player to get 300 wickets in T20s. Chahal took four wickets against Sunrisers Hyderabad for just 17 runs in four overs. This helped his team win by 72 runs.
Harry Brook of SRH was out on the last ball of the seventh over because of a leg break. In 265 games, he has now taken 303 wickets. Chahal also got rid of Mayank Agrawal, Adil Rashid, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar along with Brook.
The Royals’ spinner also beat Australian Andrew Tye to take the 15th spot on the list of the most T20 wickets ever. In 215 T20 matches, Tye has taken 301 wickets, which is a lot. The winner is West Indian DJ Bravo, who has taken 615 wickets in 558 matches. He is followed by the Gujarat Titans and Afghanistan’s best spinner Rashid Khan with 530 wickets, West Indian Sunil Narine with 479 wickets, South African Imran Tahir with 469 wickets, and Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan with 451 wickets.
Chahal is now tied for second place in the Indian Premier League (IPL) with Sri Lanka’s Lasith Malinga. Both of them have 170 wickets. Ravi Ashwin and Piyush Chawla are two Indian bowlers ahead of Chahal in the T20s. Ashwin has taken 288 wickets in 297 matches, and Chawla has taken 276 wickets in 262 matches.
The Royals lost the toss and had to bat first. Rajasthan, Jos Buttler, and Yashasvi Jaiswal’s openers hit 54 to force SRH to play right away. The Royals scored 203 runs in 20 overs, and their captain, Sanju Samson, scored 55 runs in 32 balls.
SRH’s chase was stopped in the first over after Trent Boult started the second innings by bowling a double-wicket maiden. SRH could never come back from that, and in their 20 overs, they could only score 131/8. The only good thing about SRH’s innings was the last couple of overs when pacer Umran Malik and batsman Abdul Samad hit some big shots and scored 37 runs together for the ninth wicket.
