Mitchell Starc and Alyssa Healy, an Australian power couple, toasted their WTC victory with a few beers at Oval.

Mitchell Starc and Alyssa Healy are Australia’s unofficial “power couple.” Starc is the best pacer on the Australian men’s cricket team. His wife, Alyssa Healy, is the wicketkeeper and opener for the Australian women’s cricket team.

Together, Starc and Healy have won three ICC Trophy titles in the last three years: the 2021 Men’s T20 World Cup, the 2023 World Test Championship, and the 2020 Women’s World Cup. Healy was at the Oval in London last week to watch the WTC Final between India and Australia. On Sunday, after Australia beat India by 209 runs, the two were seen drinking a beer together to celebrate.

The ICC posted pictures of Starc and Healy with the statement, “Two superstars of the game. How many ICC wins do these two teams share?”

Starc, one of the best pacers of his age, stays away from franchise cricket, like the Indian Premier League (IPL), even though it pays well, because he wants to be at his “best” when playing for Australia. Starc’s top priority is to play Test cricket for Australia, and he hopes that many young people will follow in his footsteps in the future.

Several of Starc’s teammates have played in T20 games around the world, such as the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 and the Big Bash, but the left-handed pacer has been able to resist the temptation.

“I enjoyed it (the IPL), just as I enjoyed my time at Yorkshire ten years ago, but Australia will always be on top.” I don’t regret any of it. Money comes and goes, but I’m very thankful for the chances I’ve had,” Starc told the newspaper “The Guardian.”

“In more than 100 years of Test cricket, less than 500 men have played for Australia. That fact alone makes it a very important thing to be a part of. The conservative in me still hopes that boys and girls will want to play Test cricket for their country. But franchise cricket is where you can make easy money and get known quickly,” he said.

The 33-year-old last played franchise cricket in 2015 for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the IPL. He is certain that Test cricket will remain his top focus for the foreseeable future. Starc said, “I’d love to play in the IPL again, but my goal has been for a long time to be at my best for Australia, no matter the format.”

Australia beat India by 209 runs on Sunday to win their first World Test Championship. The guys from Australia have now won every ICC title. They have already won the ODI, T20, and Champions Trophies. ” At the end of a test win, there’s nothing I like more than to sit back with my friends and talk about how well we did that week. Starc said, “It means a lot to be able to wear the baggy green with a lot of my close friends and guys I’ve grown up with in the game.”
