Mohammad Amir, a fast bowler from Pakistan, praises “King” Kohli after the veteran batsman scored his sixth IPL century.

Virat Kohli’s reputation keeps growing as the RCB batter hit his sixth IPL century against SunRisers Hyderabad on Thursday. With this, Kohli tied IPL veteran Chris Gayle for the most centuries (six) in the history of the event. Mohammad Amir, a fast bowler for Pakistan, praised the Indian star for his match-winning knock, which was praised by everyone.

Even though they have only played each other a few times, Amir admires Kohli’s hitting skills. He has also done well against Kohli. Kohli and captain Faf du Plessis helped the team beat Hyderabad by putting together a 172-run partnership for the first wicket. After the win, Amir wrote,

RCB won the toss and chose to bowl first. In the fifth over, they got both openers out early. Heinrich Klaasen, who has scored the most runs for SRH this season, picked up where he left off and attacked the other team. The Protean batter helped himself to another fifty by showing perhaps the best footwork against spin by a foreign batter this season.

In no time, he switched gears, and with only a little help from England’s Harry Brook, Klaasen got his first IPL century. SRH scored a strong 186 for 5 in 20 overs thanks to a memorable performance.

Faf and Kohli shine, and RCB moves closer to a spot in the playoffs.

The chase was led by the best pair of batters this season, Virat and Faf, who both got off to a fast start in the Powerplay.

The India great pulled up his socks and went after each bowler, especially SRH’s last match star Bhuvneshwar Kumar, hitting him for 34 runs in 19 balls. By the half-way point, Kohli and Faf had made sure that the game would end quickly. Kohli reached his sixth IPL century in the 18th over.

Even though the game went to the last over, the niceties were finished by the foreign pair of Glenn Maxwell and Michael Bracewell.

Kohli has helped RCB’s chances of making the playoffs by getting back his “Midas touch.” For RCB to finish in the top four, they need to win their last league game against Gujarat Titans.
