The fast bowler for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) did a great job in the last over of their IPL 2023 match against Mumbai Indians (MI) on Tuesday at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. This helped his team win by five runs. MI needed 11 runs to win in the last over, and Tim David and Cameron Green were in the middle. However, left-arm pacer Mohsin put on a great show and gave up only five runs in the last over, even though he was under a lot of pressure.
Mohsin missed most of the IPL season last year because he hurt his arm. He dedicated his performance to his sick father, who just got out of the ICU after 10 days. “It’s been hard because I’ve been hurt and can’t play for a year. “My father just got out of the ICU yesterday after being in the hospital for 10 days. I did it for him because he would have been watching,” he said at the presentation after the game.
“I’m thankful to the team and support staff, Gautam (Gambhir) sir and Vijay (Dahiya) sir, for giving me this game even though I didn’t do well in the last game.
Mohsin Khan said this about his plan for the last over: “The plan was to do what I did in practice. I was talking to Krunal, and I told him the same thing.
“The run-up hasn’t changed since the last round. I was trying not to look at the scores, calm down, and bowl the six balls well. Since the ground was sticky, I tried bowling a slower ball. After two of those, I switched to a yorker, but it also went backwards.
Mohsin Khan also said that he had a bad season last year because of an injury that could have ended his career. “I was hurt in a way that could have ended my career. I used to feel like I could never play again. If I was a month late for that surgery, the doctors said they might have to cut off my hand. Mohsin said, “The LSG team helped me the most.”
Mohsin Khan’s last over was also praised by Virender Sehwag, who used to be the opener for India. “Mohsin’s last over was great. Tim David and Green made it very hard to protect 11 of the last over. “Mumbai paid a price for my last 3 overs with the ball,” Sehwag wrote on Twitter.
