MS Dhoni Lost His Calm, Entered Pitch Over Disputed No-Ball Call In RR-CSK IPL 2019 Tie.

MS Dhoni Lost His Calm, Entered Pitch Over Disputed No-Ball Call In RR-CSK IPL 2019 Tie.

On Thursday, April 27, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will play the home team Rajasthan Royals (RR), in match 37 of the IPL 2023. The game will take place at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium in Jaipur. When these two teams played each other earlier this season in Chennai, Rajasthan beat CSK by three runs. This will be the other way around. But this will be the first time both teams meet at the site since their high-stakes match in IPL 2019.

After being asked to bat first in RR’s home game against CSK, the reigning champion at the time, Ajinkya Rahane’s team scored 151 for 7. In response, CSK won with the help of the fifties from Dhoni and Ambati Rayudu and significant hits from Ravindra Jadeja and Mitchell Santner. It was a thrilling match that came down to the last few balls. Still, the part of the game that people remember most is when Dhoni lost his temper and ran onto the field because of a controversial no-ball call from the referee on the field.

Ben Stokes bowled a full toss on the fourth ball of the last over when the team needed eight runs to win. Santner-Jadeja took two runs from the full toss. At first, judge Ulhas Gandhe said “no ball” because he thought the ball was higher than Santner’s waist. But Bruce Oxenford, the leg-umpire, changed the ruling because he had a better view.

This made Dhoni very angry. He had been out in the last ball, so he ran into the ground and argued with Oxenford. Even though reviews showed that it should have been a no-ball, Oxenford’s ruling stood.

After the no-ball excitement, Santner-Jadeja ran two in the next delivery. Stokes then threw a wide, making it three off the last ball. The New Zealander hit a six on the last ball to help his team win a famous game, but Dhoni losing his temper and storming into the ground was a massive topic of conversation all season.

On Thursday night (April 27), CSK and RR will likely have another high-stakes matchup in Jaipur. At the moment, Dhoni and his team are on top of the points table, while Sanju Samson’s RR are in third place.
