Ravi Shastri told Virat Kohli, who was worried about his strike rate, “Don’t change your pace.”

This IPL season, Virat Kohli has hit six fifties, but his strike rate has been the topic of conversation among experts and fans alike.

Ravi Shastri, the former head coach of India, told Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) Virat Kohli to keep up his pace while batting because of worries about Kohli’s strike rate in this season’s Indian Premier League (IPL). Kohli has made 419 runs in 10 games, giving him a strike rate of 135.16.

Even though the bowler from Delhi has scored six fifties in the IPL this season, it’s his strike rate that has experts and fans talking.

Shastri said that Kohli can’t slow down once he gets into a rhythm.

“Don’t think about the other people once you get into the rhythm.” That’s what I’ll tell Virat. You don’t need that many batters in a T20 game. Shastri said, “If you’re on a roll, keep going.”

“If you get going, don’t slow down; try to raise the stakes,” said Shastri.
Phil Salt’s 87 off 45 balls against RCB was used as an example by the 60-year-old. In that match, Salt had only taken 28 balls to get to 50.

“Phil Salt was the best model.” Once he found his rhythm, he didn’t stop. “From Virat’s point of view, that is something that could be looked at,” the former Mumbai player said.

Shastri thought that RCB needed 20 more runs to beat them.

“Delhi’s team was strong.” I guess having Rilee Roussow as an extra batter made a big difference. It let the batsmen go all out, and they lost a wicket right away. They also bowled well on that pitch to keep RCB from scoring more runs. “I think they were 20 points short,” Shastri went on.

After the game, a picture of Virat Kohli and Sourav Ganguly shaking hands went viral on social media. In the first match, in October 2021, when Ganguly was president of the BCCI and the management scandal was going on in Bengaluru, the two didn’t shake hands.

Shastri said that aggressive players like Kohli and MS Dhoni are smart enough to avoid being caught on camera when they show their anger.

“Players like Dhoni and Kohli know that a camera is always on them.” And you deserve it because of what you’ve done and what you’ve accomplished in the game. “So you can get a lot of points just by being smart on camera,” said the former cricket player, who now works as an analyst.
