RCB has signed Kedar Jadhav to replace David Willey for the remainder of the IPL 2023.

David Willey played in four IPL 2023 matches and took three wickets for RCB.
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have signed a former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) star to replace David Willey for the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Monday, ahead of their mouth-watering match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the ongoing edition of the cash-rich tournament. Faf Du Plessis’ RCB will face KL Rahul’s LSG in IPL 2023 match No.43 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium.

In preparation for their match against the Lucknow heavyweights, Du Plessis and company have successfully signed India batter Kedar Jadhav as a replacement for Willey. Willey appeared in four matches for RCB and took three wickets. The former Chennai Super Kings all-rounder has joined RCB for INR 1 crore, according to an IPL media advisory.

Willey took over for Jadhav at Chennai Super Kings during the 2018 IPL season. Jadhav was ruled out at the time due to an injury. Willey suffered a toe injury while playing for RCB in the IPL 2023. Willey’s replacement at RCB for the 2023 season, Indian batter Jadhav, previously went unsold in the IPL auctions in 2022 and 2023. Jadhav has also appeared in 17 IPL matches for RCB. The Indian all-rounder debuted in the IPL in 2010. In the world’s biggest T20 tournament, the RCB star has played 93 games. In the IPL, the Indian all-rounder has 1196 runs.

The 38-year-old has plied his trade with the likes of Delhi Capitals, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kochi Tuskers Kerala in the IPL. Jadhav has also played 73 One Day Internationals (ODIs) and 73 T20Is for Team India. The Indian batter last played an IPL match against Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in 2021.

The RCB team sits sixth in the IPL 2023 points standings, lead by Virat Kohli. Under the direction of experienced South African batter Du Plessis, the Bangalore-based club won four games and lost four in the IPL 2023. When these teams last met in the IPL 2023 at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Rahul’s LSG side won in dramatic fashion on the final ball of a high-scoring match.
