After a two-year absence, Australian batting superstar Steve Smith is scheduled to return to the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the 2023 season. He was unsold in the 2022 auction and subsequently decided without registering for the IPL’s 16th season’s mini-sale. Smith confirmed his involvement via a video posted to his social media account; however, he did not name his side. Fans of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) did not keep calm.
On Monday, Smith confirmed his comeback to the IPL for the 2023 season, despite all the rumors. In a video shared on Twitter, he stated, “Namaste India. I have some exciting news for you that I am joining IPL 2023. I am joining an exceptional and passionate team in India.”
