Taskin will miss the New Zealand Test series.

Bangladesh pacer Taskin Ahmed has announced that he will miss the forthcoming two-match Test series against New Zealand due to a shoulder ailment. Taskin stated that he will begin rehabilitation soon and hopes to be fit for the three T20Is that Bangladesh will play in New Zealand later in December.

Taskin will also miss the ODI leg of Bangladesh’s tour of New Zealand, which begins a week after the second Test concludes.

During the World Cup, Taskin had a tear in his shoulder, requiring him to miss a few games. “I was playing with a tear in my shoulder and I couldn’t find my best rhythm (in the World Cup),” Taskin remarked. “I will not be playing the Test series against New Zealand at home in the coming winter as I want to start rehabilitation after taking some rest and hoping to be available for the T20Is against New Zealand that is scheduled after our home series against them,” he said, implying he would not be available for the series’ three-match ODI series.

Aside from Taskin, Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan will miss the Test series against New Zealand owing to a fractured finger, and Tamim Iqbal’s participation is still uncertain. It is uncertain whether he has healed from a back ailment, and he did not play in the National Cricket League.

Bangladesh’s World Cup team returned home from Pune on Sunday after finishing with only two wins out of nine matches. Taskin believed that the upheaval generated by the conflicts between Shakib and Tamim leading up to the World Cup was detrimental to the team. “As a player, we had no control over it (Shakib’s issue with Tamim).” Certainly, no disruption is beneficial to the team. “It’s better not to have any disruptions,” Taskin remarked.

Meanwhile, Taskin stated that the squad will miss the services of fast bowling coach Allan Donald, who resigned after the World Cup. “He (Donald) took excellent care of our fast bowling.” He always supported us, regardless of how we performed. He was a great source of inspiration for us. I had a good time working with him. He’s leaving us, but such is life. Every coach has a two- to four-year contract. “I wish him the best for the future,” he remarked.
