Today at IPL 2023: Will Aiden Markram help SRH beat Quinton de Kock-led LSG?

Will Aiden Markram help SRH beat Quinton de Kock-led LSG?

When Lucknow Super Giants and Sunrisers Hyderabad play each other in the IPL 2023 on Friday at the Ekana cricket ground, the return of South Africans will make it hard for both teams to choose their teams. (April 7).

Aiden Markram, Henrich Klaasen, and Marco Jansen will help SRH, but it will be interesting to see how Quinton de Kock will affect LSG. Kyle Mayers, who didn’t play a single game last year, was given a chance to start the inning by LSG. The West Indies took advantage of the opportunity by making back-to-back fifties.

Quinton de Kock has a better chance of making the team after recently hitting 100 off 44 balls against the West Indies. LSG could also let Mayers and de Kock bat first or send one of them to bat one down, but then at whose expense?

Points Table:

Both LSG and SRH are coming off losses. LSG lost to Chennai Super Kings by 12 runs in a high-scoring game, and SRH lost to Rajasthan Royals by 72 runs because they didn’t play well.

LSG and SRH played each other in the IPL only on April 4, 2022. The Super Giants beat the SunRisers by 12 runs. Captain KL Rahul and Deepak Hooda helped LSG get to 169/7 before Avesh Khan and Jason Holder, who had gone to Rajasthan, limited SRH to 157/9.

Injuries Status:

After their series against the Netherlands, South Africans joined LSG and SRH, which was a big help. Mohsin Khan is still getting better from a shoulder injury, the only injury worry in the LSG group.

Pitch Report:

Teams that batted first at the Ekana Cricket Ground have done better. Teams that batted first won 17 of the 31 T20s played at the site. The ground is also better for spins than it is for quick shots.

Predicted Playing 11s:

LSG: KL Rahul (captain), Kyle Mayers, Deepak Hooda, Quinton de Kock (wicketkeeper), Nicholas Pooran, Ayush Badoni, Krunal Pandya, K Gowtham, Avesh Khan, Ravi Bishnoi, and Mark Wood.

SRH: Abhishek Sharma, Mayank Agarwal, Rahul Tripathi, Aiden Markram (c), Harry Brook, Heinrich Klaasen (wk), Abdul Samad, Washington Sundar, Adil Rashid, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Umran Malik, and T Natarajan.
